Hi! I'm Rochelle (she/her).
I specialize in 2D fantasy character art—the super emotional stuff where I can make an epic moment come to life with dynamic movement and lighting. Punch you in the gut kind of stuff (but in a good way that helps you process your own feelings). I grew up in the heyday of Disney animation and take a lot of influence from those days!
How I Got Here
I'm good at a lot of things and it took me until my 40s to be okay with admitting that.
I used to do lots of marketing and mindset stuff, and then I got burned out and depressed. And then my brother died and I had to grieve a lot of complicated things. And then I got back into drawing and learned how to play Dungeons & Dragons and now I feel like a pretty solid beginning of a new person.
The Wonderful TTRPG Rabbit Hole
I'm relatively new to the TTRPG world: Dimension 20 made me go, "omg this looks fun and I did something like this (minus the gameplay mechanics) as a kid! This is what D&D is?! I wanna play!" After that I dropped deep into the awesome rabbit hole of tabletop role play and the rest is history!
What I'm Building
I'm excited to use my art to amplify progressive storytelling. I'm also a zine maker so I want to write essays and illustrate them as if my fantasy genre OCs are doing the teaching. Working for Dropout TV someday is my pie in the sky dream.
